Martec METOCEAN Awarded EU Contract

Martec METOCEAN is pleased to announce the award of a European Union contract to manufacture (90) ninety Surface Velocity Profiler Drifters (SVP/BP).

METOCEAN designed the 15-inch diameter WOCE/BP buoy to the specifications of the WOCE scientific community. The WOCE/BP is a low-cost, easily deployed, expendable Langrangian drifter. The METOCEAN buoys are used to collect meteorological data to support weather forecasters throughout the world and mixed layer current data at 15 meters to support WOCE scientific investigators.
