At METOCEAN we take pride in the strength of our people. Our management team focuses on leading our team of 30 employees to produce the best quality products and services.

METOCEAN staff are a group of highly skilled personnel possessing extensive experience in the design and fabrication of buoy systems. This experience has been developed in the past 15 years in support of data collection system development and manufacturing.
 
Tony Chedrawy, MBA, P.Eng. | President  
Mr. Chedrawy joined METOCEAN Data Systems in 2001 as Vice President, Director of Sales and Marketing. His firm dedication during his tenure allowed him to considerably expand international market reach and accelerate global revenue; thus earning him appointment as President in 2004. In addition to his managerial and operational responsibilities, his work includes overseeing corporate strategy and business development, as well as developing and executing sales strategy, and driving the company's marketing efforts. Tony’s solid leadership and unwavering commitment has ensured the future success and growth of METOCEAN Data Systems.
Mr. Chedrawy’s experience, prior to joining METOCEAN, encompasses more than eighteen years in the areas of electro-mechanical engineering, project management, and strategic sales and marketing. He has held senior management positions within the petroleum and information technology industries and has provided numerous presentations on modular electronic designs for data acquisition and processing systems.
Tony holds an MBA with honors from the University of Houston, a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Dalhousie University and is a registered Professional Engineer.

Ralph Orton, B.Sc. (Hons) Electronic Engineering. | Technical Manager  
Mr. Orton co-founded the company in April 1985, taking overall responsibility for electronic design, development and manufacture.
Mr. Orton’s present focus is on product design and business development for electronic based systems typically required as advanced prototype and limited custom manufacturing.
Ralph has over twenty-five years of experience in design of military systems and systems for harsh environments. He has held several senior company positions including Technical Operations Manager and Vice President during his tenure with METOCEAN.

Greg Connor, P.Eng. | Sales Manager  

Mr. Connor joined METOCEAN Data Systems in 2003 as a Product Engineer and quickly moved into the Sales Manager position. Over the last five years of growth at METOCEAN, Greg has spearheaded all new market developments and product launches, most notably in the fields of military applications, polar instrumentation and asset management systems. Greg has over ten years of engineering, product development, sales and marketing experience and has held sales management positions within the scientific instrumentation and custom manufacturing industries. Mr. Connor holds a Bachelor of engineering degree from the University of New Brunswick.

Emily MacPherson, BBA. | Marketing Manager  
After graduating from Mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in business administration with a major in marketing and economics, Emily MacPherson started her career in Pharmaceuticals. Rising through the ranks to become an Account Manager, she left Pharmaceuticals to pursue a marketing career with a marine engineering company. Now, the Marketing Manager for METOCEAN, Emily draws upon her past experience in sales, marketing and account management to create innovative marketing and advertising campaigns for new and preexisting product lines. Emily is also the account manager for METOCEAN's SVP and SLDMB drifting buoy products.

Michael Burke, CMA. | Comptroller  
Mr. Burke joined METOCEAN in January 2004 as Comptroller.
After graduating from Saint Mary's University, Michael began his career in the telecommunications industry and worked his way up from an accounting clerk to a divisional accountant before moving on to become the Assistant Comptroller with a marine engineering firm. He then became the Assistant Comptroller with a large logistics form in the oil & gas industry.
Michael received his CMA designation in 1995 and has over fifteen years of experience in the accounting field.

Jeff Leonard, Mechanical Technologist. | Engineering Manager  
Mr. Leonard joined METOCEAN Data Systems in 2006 as Engineering Manager. He has over thirteen years of engineering experience in the design and development of military systems (with particular focus on sonar applications), moored systems, towed arrays, towed bodies, and aircraft mounted equipment. His skills are focused on improving quality, productivity and cost-efficiency of data collection system development through the appropriate application of modular electronic designs. His responsibilities include project management, strategic planning, and electronics engineering for various high-tech assembly operations and manufacturing software projects. Mr. Leonard's broad educational background and experience in diverse manufacturing assignments allows him to understand the cost implications of technical decisions that manufacturers must face in today's global marketplace and apply the appropriate cost-effective solutions to support overall business requirements.

Shahrokh Kamali. | Production Manager  

Mr. Shahrokh Kamali is an Electronics Engineer with more than seventeen years of experience in Electronics Manufacturing Systems (EMS), specializing in SMT/PTH placement, wave soldering, touch-up, conformal coating, Q.A., test, mechanical assembly, fabrication procedures, subassemblies and final assembly. Mr. Kamali brings to METOCEAN an in-depth knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (PFMEA), New Projects Implementation (NPI), Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
As Production Manager, Shahrokh plays a key role in facilitating Lean Manufacturing in production process improvement, increasing productivity, and improving product price fields.
