We are in search of an ambitious Business Development professional to help us expand our customer base in the Defence and Security market. The objective of the BD Manager is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with our customers. The ideal candidate will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to apply an effective Business Development strategy to exploit new business opportunities. The successful Business Development Manager will be experienced selling tracking solutions within Law Enforcement and/or Security Organisations.
To qualify for this role, you must be a top sales performer with a passion for technology and innovative business solutions. Previous industry experience in law enforcement, security or military sales is necessary for success in this role. The ability to source quality business leads and create lasting client relationships is also essential. To do this, you must be a superior communicator, a creative problem solver, and an assertive decision maker. Most importantly, you are someone who sets the bar high and who demands results.
The Business Development Manager’s responsibilities will include:
Support and expand on business opportunities within the law enforcement, security and defence markets
Drive new revenue by utilising strong networking skills to create opportunities and partnerships for MetOcean Telematics
Spend significant time outside the office making contacts
Organise, plan, schedule, and manage the company’s sales efforts
Determine sales objectives to meet company wide goals
Represent the company at the highest level to clients, peer organisations, and business associates
Make teaming commitments related to business development on behalf of the company
Work with inside sales staff to develop proposals
Maintain a high profile in professional and community organisations
An experienced and successful Sales/Business Development Manager selling tracking solutions within Law Enforcement and/or Security Organisations
A Degree in related field or background in Electronics or Engineering
Not only a burning drive to win and a will to ‘find a way’ but also a creative thinker with a strong, externally facing and internally astute, business acumen
Self-Starter with proven ability to proactively engage with leaders and facilitate discussions.
A professional demeanor and ability to interact with the highest levels both inside and outside the organisation
Strong organisational and business management skills
Successful in proactively creating and maintaining strong internal and external relationships with centers of influence, team members, and management
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
UK Government Security clearance (SC) required
25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays plus additional office closure from 24 December to 1 January inclusive
Flexible working hours as standard – start anytime between 8am & 10am and finish between 4pm & 6pm or 3pm on Friday’s
37 hour working week
